The ICZM Project in West Bengal has initiated various physical infrastructure development activities at the coastal areas to usher in a new paradigm of growth which is inclusive and equitable in nature.
The activities taken up for infrastructure development include rural electrification, eco-tourism facilities, multipurpose cyclone shelters along with community aided implementation of Entry Point Activities (construction of rural road, sinking of tubewell with raised platform, culvert and etc.) in Sagar Block.
Construction of multipurpose cyclone shelters is also being implemented in the following blocks other than Sagar in South 24 Paragana district:-
The spate of infrastructure development activities are also going on in Digha (located at East Midanpore district). The activities in Digha include construction of storm water drainage, sewage system and beachfront development.
